Home Based Internet Marketing Business–Unlock the Unlimited Potential

Home based internet marketing is one of the most exciting forms of marketing. Being an engineer allowed me to see marketing from an outsider’s perspective, and the years of entrepreneurship taught me the vital role of marketing in very harsh ways.

In the marketing books, marketing is defined as an ongoing process of planning and executing the marketing mix (Product, Price, Place, and Promotion) for products, services or ideas to create exchange between individuals and organizations.

As you know me, I am use to writing my own definitions. Nothing explains marketing better than the following definitions of different types of marketing and it clearly shows the cutting edge of home based internet marketing over other forms of marketing.

Different Types of Marketing

1 . You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and say: "I am very rich."Marry me!"
- That's Direct Marketing

2. You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a gorgeous girl. One of your friends goes up to her and pointing at you says: "He's very rich."Marry him.”

-That's Advertising

3. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and get her telephone number. The next day, you call and say: "Hi, I'm very rich.Marry me”

- That's Telemarketing

4. You're at a party and see a gorgeous girl. You get up and straighten your tie, you walk up to her and pour her a drink, you open the door (of the car)for her, pick up her bag after she drops it, offer her ride and then say:"By the way, I'm rich. Will you "Marry Me?"

- That's Public Relations

5. You're at a party and see a gorgeous girl. She walks up to you and says:"You are very rich!"Can you marry ! me?"

- That's Brand Recognition

6. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and say: "I am very rich. Marry me!"She gives you a nice hard slap on your face

-That's Customer Feedback

7. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and say: "I am very rich. Marry me!" And she introduces you to her husband.

-That's demand and supply gap

8. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and before you say anything, another person come and tell her: "I'm rich. Will you marry me?" and she goes with him
- That's competition eating into your market share

9. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and before you say: "I'm rich, Marry me!" your wife arrives

-That's restriction for entering new markets

Although the above definition is written by one of our well wishers, I can add the 10 th Category:

10. You go to a chat room. You meet a gorgeous girl. You chat to her in private, and forward her to your website which tells “He is very rich, marry him”

-That’s home based internet marketing

The story already has told you the beauty of home based internet marketing. To summarize the points, to impress the girl:
-You did not have to go a party,

-You did not have to dress up

-You could do the marketing from the comfort of your own home!

- Like I do it in my warm home office, with the wood cracking in the fireplace, while the outside temperature is 2oC in the cold New Zealand winter. For your clarification, not trying to seduce gorgeous girls (those days are gone!), but home based internet marketing.

While internet marketing offers some unique benefits, this double edged sword has some unique challenges as well.

These Challenges in Internet Marketing are:

-Information Overload

This is one of the most critical challenges in home based internet marketing. Now a days with so much information available, we are being overloaded with information. People tend to close their senses to something new. For instance, when you go to the post shop, the beautiful teller in the counter looks behind you as if she has not seen anything.

This mental attitude remains when they are on internet. On an average, a user will give your site a try for three seconds only. Clicking away has become so easy.

-No Loyalty

Second Big challenge in home based internet marketing is, there is no loyalty! Imagine if you have a physical retail shop. Your regular customers will necessarily feel hesitant if they are going to the shop a next few blocks away in front of your store to buy the same goods.

In the internet world, does anything exist like that?

-No Passersby

Another big challenge in home based internet marketing is only targeted traffic visits your website. Go to a shopping complex, open up a highly decorated nice shop, place some signs saying SALE. You can expect a fair number of passerbys attracted to your store, while they were either going to a different store or just walking around. The quotation by Stuart H. Britt just becomes 200% more valid in internet marketing - "Doing business without advertising is like winking at a girl in the dark. You know what you're doing, but nobody else does." It is the role of the internet marketer to marry the customer to your website. It has to be highly focused traffic, else remember the three second rule?

The Effective Strategies to Home Based Internet Marketing:

Home based Internet Marketing Stratgey#1: Increase your knowledge

In the early days, while I was busy with my real estate, I asked my wife, “Honey, can you please take care of marketing of my website?” A few days later, I asked her how she was doing. Her expression was a classical one. Her beautiful big eyes got filled with tears and she said, “Can you please take care of this issue while I look after your real estates for a few days? The terms keywords, Google adwords and Adsense, PPC is so difficult, its just going over my head.”

I knew she was in distress. I am not saying I am more intelligent then anyone else. I knew I would be in her shoes if I took the same steps. I took a few steps back. I bought a few books, the training by Google is awesome, and did a careful research.

And now I am doing it comfortably. So can you. I hope, like me, you will always remember going a few steps back and acquiring proper knowledge to make the difference.

Home based Internet Marketing Stratgey#2: Use Google Ad words

Don’t you wish you could live a lavish life like the owners of Google? I have not lost hope yet. Actually I never loose hope, I will keep on scratching as long as I breathe. However, for any business to reach their customers, there is few better alternatives than Google adwords and Adsense.

Home based Internet Marketing Stratgey#3: PPC Marketing

As we all know, the full term for PPC is pay per click. You and competitors bid on a specific keyword. The winner bidders ad is displayed on the PPC networks including major search engines and Tier 2 search engines. Tier 2 search engines are becoming increasingly popular because of their display of paid ads only. The results are not yet upto the standard. However, I see days coming when people may go and search in the tier 2 search engines to find their desired service providers.

Home based Internet Marketing Stratgey#4: Affiliate Marketing

I do love affiliate marketing. If you have the capability of developing quality products, focus on developing the quality products, either e product or physical. Post the product in an affiliate market place and if the product is good, the affiliate marketplace will take care of the rest.

Home based Internet Marketing Stratgey#5: Blog Marketing

Blog marketing has definitely made its place in internet marketing. Its simple, easy and effective. It is effective because it successfully presells the concept.

To ride this fast train, start a Blog on a niche topic and build the traffic. Once the traffic starts coming, make friendship with them and then market your material to them.

To do home based internet marketing, you need three things:

- Your Brain

- A laptop or PC

-DSL Internet connection

Can you get all of them from your home? Of course you can! If its cold outside, keep yourself warm in your most favorite corner of home, seeping hot cup of coffee with the smoke going up, and do home based internet marketing.

Before I say goodbye, I just wanted to share this fable with you:Said a tiger to a lion as they drank beside a pool, “Tell me, why do you roar like a fool?” “That’s not foolish,” replied the lion with a twinkle in his eyes. “They call me king of all the beasts because I advertise.” A rabbit heard them talking and ran home like a streak. He thought he would try the lion’s plan, but his roar was a squeak. A fox came to investigate – and had his lunch in the woods.

The moral:

When you advertise, be sure you’ve got the goods!
